The educational
program at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicince
is conducted by the Department of Ophthalmology at the Rocky
Mountain Lions Eye Institute (RMLEI), University of Colorado
Hospital (UCH) on the Anschutz Medical Campus, and the three University -affiliated
medical centers: Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC);
The Children's Hospital (TCH); and the Veterans Affairs Medical
Center (VAMC). All centers are within a 30-minute drive
from the main campus.
RESIDENCY
PROGRAM
Our residency program
is a 36-month program with 4 residents in each post graduate
year. During training, residents acquire the basic and
advanced knowledge and the surgical skills necessary for the
general practice of ophthalmology. For more information

Please note that all applications must be processed by the
San Francisco Match;
we will not accept any applications that have not first been
received by the Ophthalmology Matching Program.
FELLOWSHIP
PROGRAMS
Currently, we have
3 fellowships available in the Department of Ophthalmology:
Please be aware
that all fellowship applicants must be eligible to receive
a Colorado medical license
at the time of application
and must have a valid Colorado license on the first day of
their fellowship.
The Department of Ophthalmology participates
in the Fellowship Matching Program sponsored by the Association
of University Professors of Ophthalmology (PO Box 7999, San
Francisco, CA 94120).
