WE MAKE A MAJOR IMPACT ON BLINDNESS AND EYE DISEASE

The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute (RMLEI) is the physical culmination of a dream.     The clinical service, research and educational programs have far reaching significance for the regional population, eye professionals and the medical students whom we train.  The Lions Clubs of Colorado and Wyoming, in their quest to meet a challenge presented to them by Helen Keller, worked in conjunction with the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) to bring this dream to reality.

Advanced patient care is an actuality due to the state of the art equipment and technology in this specialty designed eye institute and to the internationally recognized faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology who practice medicine here.

Here, on the Anschutz Medical Campus at Fitzsimons (AMC), both ophthalmologists and scientists, research basic causes of blindness and investigate promising new treatments in the clinical research area and new research space in Research I.  We transfer the best of what is learned in the laboratory to the clinical treatment of our patients.  Your support will help us sustain this reality.
