Patient Testimonials

Dear Dr. Taravella,

My LASIK procedure has given me a new freedom. After 27 years of wearing glasses and contact lenses, I no longer have to spend my time cleaning lenses so I can see for the day or putting drops in my dry eyes so my contacts don't feel so uncomfortable. It is very liberating!

The procedure was shorter than I expected. A nurse numbed my eyes with drops and I lay back in a reclining chair. In no time a corneal flap was made and the laser shaped my cornea and changed my vision. There was no pain. It was incredible! The staff was wonderful and very understanding about the apprehension I was feeling before and during my surgery.

Emerging from a world in which everything is blurry to one in which everything is clear was an emotional experience for me. It feels wonderful to know I can do things my poor vision kept me from doing before my surgery, like swimming with my kids! Being able to see the clock in the morning, checking on my kids in the middle of the night and not having to hassle with glasses or contacts while backpacking and skiing, are just a few of the fantastic things I have discovered since my laser surgery! I love seeing the world through my new eyes! Thank you!

Very sincerely,

Audrey Sherman

Without any reservation whatsoever, I recommend the LASIK procedure 100%. Formerly, I had a -8 refraction. I wore hard contact for 20 years. I had thick glasses; but, worst of all, I had extremely dry, bloodshot eyes 24 hours a day. The morning after I had the surgery, I woke up thinking that I must have left my contacts in. I couldn't get over how clear everything was in less than 12 hours following the procedure.

I can't thank Dr. Taravella enough! He was informative every step of the way. But even more so, he was professional yet caring. You couldn't ask for a better ophthalmologist to do your LASIK procedure. I'm not only his #1 LASIK patient, I'm also his #1 fan. I've got 20/20 vision now. I'm still reading 20/20 3½ years to date after having the LASIK surgery.
