Voice Research in the Department of Otolaryngology

The Voice and Laryngology research in the department is associated with The Wilbur James Gould Voice Center at The Denver Center for Performing Arts. The only Voice Center at a performing arts complex, it currently holds two major NIH grants in Occupational Voice Use and Voice Therapy in Parkinson's Disorder, among many other smaller projects. A division of the National Center for Voice and Speech, it is home to several internationally recognized voice scientists and clinicians, as well as a consultant site for other NIH funded projects including the Aging Voice and the Cellular Biology of the Superficial Lamina Propria. Mona M. Abaza, MD is the associate medical director and the research laryngologist at the center.
