ANSWERS

 

1. Postductal aortic coarctation. This often presents in older children or adults and is more common than the preductal coarctation which presents in infancy.

1) There is abnormal narrowing of the aortic lumen resulting in an “obstructive congenital heart disease”, and

2) It occurs as an isolated cardiac anomaly in about half the patients with the other half being associated with other cardiac malformations.

2. Rib notching due to dilated collateral arteries.

 

3. Hypertension, Heart failure, Infective Aortitis, Proximal Dissection/Rupture
