The North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) has awarded Ronald J. Sokol, MD, Professor of Pediatrics, the Shwachman Award. Presented on an annual basis, this award acknowledges lifetime contributions and achievement in the field of pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition.

George Eisenbarth Honored with Banting Award
Dr. George Eisenbarth has received the prestigious Frederick G. Banting Award, which honors scientific excellence and recognizes outstanding, long-term contributions to the understanding, treatment, and prevention of diabetes. This is the highest honor world-wide in the field of diabetes! George S. Eisenbarth, MD, PhD, is Professor of Pediatrics, Medicine, and Immunology, and Executive Director of the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes.
