Alison Brent, MD

Alison Brent, MD, FAAP, FACEP, earned her medical degree from Brown University
in 1980. She completed her pediatric residency training and a fellowship in Pediatric
Emergency Medicine/ Ambulatory at the Children’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts
in 1984. Dr. Brent joined the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics at the
University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine and The Children’s Hospital in 2004,
where she is a member of the Division of Emergency Medicine. From 2004 to 2007
Dr. Brent served as Medical Director for The Children’s Hospital at Parker Adventist
Hospital and Medical Director of Case Management at The Children’s Hospital main
campus. In 2007 she was appointed as Medical Director for the Network of Care
for The Children's Hospital.
Dr. Brent’s research interests include process/system improvement, integration of Emergency and Urgent Care Medicine, implementation of clinical care guidelines, plus procedural sedation and analgesia. She is widely published in professional journals and books and is an invited lecturer and instructor nationwide. Dr. Brent has received many awards, including the Team-Health Annual Medical Director of the Year award in 2004, and the JCAHO Codman Award for Process Improvement in the Emergency Department in 2005. Dr. Brent is a member of numerous professional societies, as well as many institutional committees for The Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Brent is board certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
