Kathryn D. Emery, MD
Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Kathryn D. Emery, MD, received her medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Sciences Center at Syracuse in 1988. She completed her pediatric residency at Stanford University in 1991 and her fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1993. She joined the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and The Children’s Hospital in 1993. She was Medical Director of the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute in Denver from 1995-2006.
Dr. Emery has received grant support for her research into childhood
injury prevention, her primary research interest. One such project is the Jungle Mobile: A Mobile Injury Prevention Project for Children, for which she is the principle investigator. Other research interests include child passenger safety and criteria for recognizing child abuse.
In 2001, Dr. Emery and the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute received a State Impact Award for her work with the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition. She has published in several professional pediatric medicine journals.
Dr. Emery is board certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
