Mary P. Glodé, MD, earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in 1972. Following residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in 1976 and a fellowship in pediatric and adult infectious diseases at Harvard Medical School in 1978.
Dr. Glodé joined the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and The Children’s Hospital in 1978. In addition to directing the Pediatric Residency Program for more than 10 years, she has served the Department as Vice Chair of Education since 1994 and as Section Head of Infectious Diseases since 2002. She was named a "Career Teaching Scholar" by the Department of Pediatrics in 2003.
Internationally recognized as an expert on Kawasaki disease and immunization, Dr. Glodé frequently presents at local, national, and international conferences. She has published over 150 journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters on pediatric infectious diseases. Dr. Glodé has participated in numerous national advisory committees for the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institutes of Health. Her major areas of scientific interest include Kawasaki disease, the development of new pediatric vaccines, and residency education.
Dr. Glodé is board certified in Pediatrics and subspecialty certified in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
