Edward J. Hoffenberg, MD

Edward J. Hoffenberg, MD, earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1986. He completed his Pediatric Residency at the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1989. Dr. Hoffenberg completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition in 1992 at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He joined the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and The Children’s Hospital in 1992. He has been Medical Director of the Program for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Diseases at The Children’s Hospital since 1998.
Dr. Hoffenberg’s research interests include epidemiology and the clinical features of celiac autoimmunity in early childhood, inflammatory bowel disease and inherited polyposis syndromes. He has received grant support for numerous research projects.
In 2007, Dr. Hoffenberg was named one of “Denver’s Top Doctors” by 5280 Magazine. Dr. Hoffenberg is a member of many professional organizations and committees. He is a popular invited lecturer nationwide and widely published in medical journals and texts.
Dr. Hoffenberg is board certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
