Paul M. Levisohn, MD
Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology


Paul M. Levisohn, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine in 1970. He completed his Pediatric Residency at the University of Colorado in 1974 and his Neurology Residency and Pediatric Neurology Resident-Fellowship at Washington University/St. Louis Children's Hospital in 1978. Dr. Levisohn joined the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine and The Children’s Hospital in 1996. He was Medical Director of the Children’s Epilepsy Program from 1996 to 2006 and has served as the Medical Director of the Neurodiagnostic Lab for the Division of Child Neurology since 1996. He is also Medical Director of the Tuberous Sclerosis Clinic at The Children's Hospital as well as the Ketogenic Diet Program.

Dr. Levisohn is a member of many professional societies and has served on numerous committees in his field. He is Chair of the Practice Committee of the American Epilepsy Society, serves on several task forces of the American Epilepsy Society and the national Epilepsy Foundation, and is a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado. He is medical consultant for The Community College of Denver Electrodiagnostic Technology (END) Advisory Committee. He has served on The Children’s Hospital Pediatric Clinical Research Center Scientific Advisory Committee and is currently a member of the University of Colorado Department of Pediatrics Clinical Practice Committee. He is widely published and an active peer reviewer for professional journals.

Dr. Levisohn is a Principal Investigator for clinical epilepsy research supported by internal and extramural funding. He is currently conducting clinical trials investigating childhood absence epilepsy, new antiepileptic drugs for use in children, and investigating health-related quality of life for children with epilepsy and their families. He is the recipient of numerous research grants for his investigative work in epilepsy.

Dr. Levisohn is board certified in Pediatrics, in Neurology with Special Competence in Child Neurology, and certified in EEG.
