Peter M. Mourani, MD
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
Peter M. Mourani, MD, earned his medical degree from the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University in 1994. He completed his pediatric residency training at Loyola University Medical Center in 1997 and a dual fellowship in pediatric intensive care medicine and pediatric pulmonology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2001.
Dr. Mourani joined the faculty of The Children's Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics Section of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2001. He is also a member of the Pediatric Heart Lung Center, a research and clinical care program at The Children’s Hospital focused on developing innovative approaches towards the investigation and treatment of severe cardiac and pulmonary disorders.
Dr. Mourani’s research work centers on the mechanisms of impaired pulmonary vascular angiogenesis and its contribution to impaired lung development, chronic lung disease and pulmonary hypertension in prematurely born infants. He has published several journal articles and book chapters and has been invited to present both locally and nationally.
Dr. Mourani is board certified in Pediatrics and subspecialty certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Pulmonology.
