Amy E. Sass, MD
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
Medical Director, Adolescent Clinic
Amy E. Sass, MD, MPH, earned her medical degree in 1998 from the University of
Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and completed her Pediatric Residency
at Boston Children’s Hospital in 2001. In 2004, she completed her Fellowship
in Adolescent Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and received her Master’s
in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Sass joined the
faculty of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School
of Medicine and The Children’s Hospital in 2004. She is the Medical Director
of the Adolescent Clinic at The Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Sass was recently honored for being a 2007 Top Doc by 5280 Magazine. She is actively involved in medical education and has been honored for being a Foundations in Doctoring Preceptor.
She also received a letter of appreciation from the Pediatric Residency Program
Committee for Excellence in Teaching, which was the first time such a letter
was awarded by the Committee.
Dr. Sass has conducted research in the areas of obesity prevention with adolescents and screening adolescents for sexually transmitted infections. She is currently conducting a study investigating the etiology of undefined vulvar ulcers in adolescents. Dr. has received grant funding for her work. She also serves as a peer reviewer for several medical publications.
Dr. Sass sees pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients with gynecologic and contraceptive issues. She also sees adolescent and young adult patients for primary care, complex medical problems, mental health issues, and eating disorders.
Dr. Sass is board certified in Pediatrics and in Adolescent Medicine.
