Local Faculty Speakers and Topics

Form for Suggested Section Speakers and Topics
Each section of the Department of Pediatrics is required to submit on an annual basis suggested Grand Rounds speakers and topics from its section’s faculty (minimum of 2; additional suggestions are welcome). There are no specific restrictions on topic. However, it is hoped that the proposed topic will be of interest to a broad spectrum of Grand Rounds attendees.
Submitted suggestions will be used to select Grand Rounds speakers and topics for the upcoming academic year. Suggestions for speakers/topics not chosen for the upcoming year will be retained for subsequent years.
Please use the attached form to submit your section’s suggested speakers and topics. Please submit your response to Mark Abzug, either by mail (TCH Box B055) or e-mail abzug.mark@tchden.org, by March 21, 2008.
Visiting Professorships

Form for Proposing Visiting Professorship
Department of Pediatrics will provide travel funds (up to $1,500) and honoraria ($500) for 2 visiting professors per year. The intent of these awards is to facilitate invitation of high-quality speakers who are recognized experts in their fields to our department to deliver Grand Rounds. There are no specific restrictions on topic. However, it is hoped that the proposed topic will be at the cutting edge of the relevant discipline and will be of interest to a broad spectrum of Grand Rounds attendees. Additionally, preference will be given to speakers who provide expertise beyond that available locally.
Selection of the Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds Visiting Professorships will be made by the Department of Pediatric Grand Rounds Coordinator, in consultation with the Department Chair. Additional faculty may be asked to assist in the selection, depending on the number of proposals received.
If you are interested in applying for a visiting professorship, you can submit the accompanying form to Mark Abzug, MD, by mail (TCH Box B055) or e-mail abzug.mark@tchden.org. Applications should be submitted by April 04, 2008.
Invited Speakers

Form for Requesting Grand Rounds Date
The Department of Pediatrics welcomes the opportunity for invited speakers to present Grand Rounds. This includes named lectureships and speakers who will be presenting in association with a concurrent meeting or special event. To secure a date for Grand Rounds and provide information about your invited speaker, please complete this form. When possible, requests should be submitted at least 6 months in advance of the desired date to obtain the preferred Grand Rounds slot.
