Clinical Translational Research Center
(TCH CTRC)
The Clinical Translational Research Center of The Children’s Hospital (TCH CTRC) is one of the premier Child Health clinical research centers in North America. TCH CTRC is part of the newly funded Colorado Clinical Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI), supported by the NIH as part of the nationwide Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) program.
The goals of this innovative new program are to transform clinical and translational research and training throughout Colorado in order to speed the application of discoveries into clinical practice. At the TCH CTRC, research is focused on improving child health and understanding disease processes and health issues that specifically affect infants, children, and adolescents. The Center has been continuously funded since 1962 by the NIH and is currently in a five-year funding cycle beginning in 2008.
While the TCH CTRC is part of the CCTSI based at the University of Colorado Denver, its administrative offices, inpatient unit, outpatient clinic, "scatterbed" nurses, core laboratory,
and research subject advocacy program
are located at The Children's Hospital, and its perinatal unit is located at University of Colorado Hospital and TCH.
