CTRC Data Analysis
The services offered by the Biostatistical Core of the Pediatric CTRC include:
- Study design together with endpoint definitions, power and sample size calculations,
and construction of the analysis plan
- Advice on which variables should be included in the analysis
- Advice on how to record those variables, in conjunction with database design support from the Bioinformatics Core
- Review of protocols submitted to the Pediatric CTRC for funding
- Randomization lists
- Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) support
- Provision of ad hoc statistical consulting whilst CTRC studies are active (how to handle protocol deviations,
unscheduled interim analyses, protocol amendments, etc.)
- Statistical programming support to analyze the data at study end
- Interpretation of the results
- Assistance with writing up the results for abstract and manuscript submission
- Review of manuscript drafts
- Assistance with replying to journal reviewers’ comments
- Education about statistical methodology
Investigators are strongly encouraged to approach the Biostatistical Core at the study design phase, i.e. at the time the protocol is being drafted.
