project overview

The Nighthorse Campbell Native Health project involved construction of a 45,396 gross square foot facility at the Anschutz Medical Campus, to house the Division of American Indian and Alaska Native Programs, Programs for the Public Psychiatry, and the TeleHealth/TeleEducation Program Office and Resource Center.

The 3 story building is comprised of office and conference space and state of the art multimedia production, computer servers and work rooms. The building houses extension library and archive of publications that support the American Indian and Alaska Native Programs, Public Psychiatry, and TeleHalth/TeleEducation Programs.

The building was used to relocate and expand the programs of the Division of American Indian and Alaska Native Programs currently housed in the University North Pavilion facility on the UCD Campus. The TeleHealth/TeleEducation Program Office was created during 1996 with the primary purpose of coordinating and providing the necessary support services required by the numerous campus telehealth and teleeducation Program activities. In order to generate the media source materials necessary to support teleconsultative Native American health care activities and to facilitate both the technology training and program assessment services to be provided by the center, studio and media production support space is included in this building.

The Programs for Public Psychiatry currently employs 56 clinical faculties, 4 administrative faculties, and 28 doctoral and post-doctoral trainees located at six site locations throughout Colorado. Currently, 15 faculty and staff members are housed in approximately 1,610 assignable square feet of program space located in the Colorado Psychiatric Hospital facility at the UCD campus.

The construction of this project was delivered under a Construction Manger/General Contractor (CM/GC) method of deliver. The project was designed by local Denver Architecture firm MOA Architects and built by local CM/GC Contractor Haselden Construction.
