Department of Psychiatry

Are you interested in
  • The role of mental functioning, family support, and stress in illness?
  • The impact of medical illnesses on behavior and cognition?
  • The causes of psychiatric illnesses?
  • Or testing new interventions for the treatment of psychiatric illnesses?

Then the following programs may be for you...

Psychiatry Scholars

and

Psychiatry Scholars Plus

The Psychiatry Scholars Program, sponsored by the Department of Psychiatry, matches you with a faculty member to work on a scholarly project that matches your research interests. You can review a list of possible project by title, keyword, or mentor name, or, if you have another interest not listed, we’ll work with you to find a mentor and project.

The Psychiatry Scholars Plus Program will be awarded to six students for the summer of 2007. The Plus Program has everything the Psychiatry Scholars Program has and supports an 8-week summer program to focus on your scholarly project. Support includes a stipend ($1900 per month) and partial support to travel to the Annual Psychiatry Summer Conference in Aspen, Colorado. The application for the Psychiatry Scholars Plus Program can be downloaded, and returned to Kate Hanna either by email or intracampus mail at C268-31.

Deadline for applications is February 28, 2008.
