Guido K.W. Frank, M.D. Director

Guido Frank, M.D, graduated from Medical School in Munich Germany. He worked as a postgraduate resident for three years in the Psychosomatic Hospital Roseneck, Prien, Germany, and was taught intensively in psychotherapy. Dr. Frank was awarded a Research Scholarship from the Christina-Bartz Foundation and worked for three years with Walter Kaye, M.D. in the Eating Disorders Research Department at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Frank completed adult psychiatry training at the University of Pittsburgh and training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Frank also completed the Fellowship in Biological Psychiatry and Neuroscience at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Frank is the Head or the Developmental Brain Imaging Program at the University of Colorado Denver at The Children’s Hospital Denver.

Leah Jappe, B.S., Professional Research Assistant

Leah Jappe graduated with a BS in psychology from University of Colorado Denver in 2006 and earned departmental honors for her role in various studies related to body image distortion and measurement. She spent six months as a counselor in the Eating Disorder Unit at The Children’s Hospital, Colorado before joining the Developmental Brain Research Program in December 2007 as a Professional Research Assistant. Currently, Leah coordinates recruitment, screening, and execution of various imaging, genetic, and behavioral studies involving eating disorders and reactive aggression. In the future, she aims to earn a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and further explore how neurobiology and development of psychopathology interact to influence behavior and treatment outcome in eating disorders.

Megan Shott, Research Assistant

Megan Shott is an undergraduate student at the University of Colorado at Denver.  She is responsible for IRB submissions, screening subjects, consenting subjects for research, data collection and analysis. Megan will obtain her B.S. in Chemistry and pans to attend graduate school in neuroscience where she will bridge her knowledge of the biochemistry of the brain with her dedication for research in the field of eating disorders.

Michael Rollin, M.D., Psychiatry Resident

Michael Rollin, M.D., is a third-year resident in the Child/Adolescent Integrated Track at the University of Colorado Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Rollin completed undergraduate education at Stanford University and received his medical training at the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine. His research relates to the cognitive and sensory aspects of body image in anorexia nervosa.

 

Elizabeth M. Davis, Psy.D., Psychology Fellow
Elizabeth M. Davis, Psy.D. is a Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Eating Disorders Program, dividing her time between clinical work and research pursuits.  She graduated with a Doctorate in Psychology from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.  She has joined the research team to assist with diagnostic interviewing and screening potential participants for the various eating disorder research projects. In the future, she hopes to continue bridging her clinical and research knowledge in order to provide the most effective treatment for eating disorders as well as co-morbid diagnoses. 

 

Trevor Davis, B.S., Project Intern

Trevor Davis is a 2007 graduate of Colorado State University, where he received his B.S. in Psychology. He is entering his second year at the University of Denver, in the Psy.D. program. His clinical interests are in rehabilitation and health psychology as well as psychometric therapeutic assessment. Trevor’s research interests lie in applicable research that will directly aid the clinician in the treatment of their clients. Trevor is currently working on a virtual reality project.

 

Yuliya Proosaselts, B.S., Research Assistant

Yuliya Proosaselts graduated from the University of Denver in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Psychology. Yuliya is a research assistant in the lab, and works primarily on data processing and study procedures. Yuliya is planning to attend medical school and become a psychiatrist.

Lacy A. Olson, UCSD Impulsive Aggression Study Coordinator

Lacy Olson is an undergraduate student at San Diego State University. She runs the Impulsive Aggression study at the University of California San Diego, and is responsible for the overall organization of the study procedures, participant enrollment and interviews, fMRI data collection and analysis, and the supervision of research assistants. Lacy will graduate in May of 2009 with her B.A. in psychology and plans to attend graduate school to obtain a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
