Addiction Psychiatry Residency
Clinic Sites
The addiction residents’ clinical rotations occur at three primary sites: Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC), the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center (DVAMC ) and the Addiction Research Treatment Service (ARTS), a division of the University of Colorado Denver (UCD). Rotations are four months on either a full time or half time basis. Current time allocations are 1.0 FTE at both DHMC and DVAMC and .5 FTE at ARTS. Both DHMC and the DVAMC are primary teaching hospitals of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and train residents and medical students on their clinical services. Physically, the DVAMC is adjacent to the medical school campus and DHMC (formerly Denver General Hospital), the city/county hospital, is 2 miles west. The ARTS has several sites within the City of Denver. Throughout the year each resident maintains a continuity clinic at one of the three sites to provide ongoing follow-up.
