University of Colorado Hospital (UCH)
Now completed located at the Anschutz Medical Campus, this beautiful state-of-the-art facility is the tertiary care leader of the Rocky Mountain Region. It embraces a patient-centered philosophy and serves both private and public sectors. The psychiatry service includes an acute psychiatry unit for adults that utilizes a dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) model, adult and child & adolescent outpatient services, consultation-liaison services, emergency psychiatry, and several specialty and research programs. UCH’s Center for Dependency, Addiction, and Recovery (CeDAR) is located on the west side of the Anschutz Medical Campus and provides intensive residential recovery services for persons with substance use disorders.

Denver Health Medical Center
Denver Health Medical Center is the primary safety net hospital serving the City and County of Denver. Psychiatry services are a key component of the DH mission. The inpatient services for adults and adolescents utilize a crisis intervention model. Other services include forensic/correctional psychiatry, a large psychiatric emergency service, inpatient and outpatient addiction psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, and consultation to neighborhood health clinics.

The Department of Veterans Administration Medical Center
The Denver Veterans Administration Medical Center has major psychiatric research and clinical programs including a Schizophrenia Research Center. Here veterans obtain comprehensive psychiatric services including emergency treatment, inpatient services, alcohol and drug treatment, PTSD residential treatment, and outpatient treatment. The VA is a leader in innovative clinical services for veterans, including the use of telepsychiatry to reach those in rural areas of Colorado.

The Children’s Hospital
The Children’s Hospital is a private, non-profit, tertiary-care pediatric hospital, which serves the Denver metropolitan area, Colorado, and the region. Psychiatric services include inpatient and intensive outpatient services for children and adolescents, psychiatric day treatment, outpatient services, eating disorder treatment, and consultation-liaison services. Marianne Wamboldt, MD, the Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The Children’s Hospital, leads a multidisciplinary team of experts in children’s mental health, including 8 faculty child and adolescent psychiatrists. |
