Department of PsychiatryPsychosomatic Medicine FellowshipThe Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The program was created for graduates of ACGME-accredited psychiatry residencies who seek advanced education and training in psychosomatic medicine and the opportunity to develop an academic career in psychosomatic medicine. A unique aspect of this fellowship is its focus on family-oriented, patient-centered care. Fellows will become knowledgeable and develop skills in working with patients and their families across all systems of care. Second, the program is designed for fellows with an interest in developing an academic career in psychosomatic medicine (PM). Fellows will pursue scholarly and research activities during the first year training program. During the optional second year, the fellows will develop an intensive, individualized research experience with highly experienced investigators. This research year is sponsored by the highly acclaimed, multidisciplinary, cross-institution NIMH-funded post-doctoral training program in Developmental Psychobiology which is hosted by the Department of Psychiatry.
