Weekends, holidays, and after-hours:

For trauma head CT: Direct schedule with tech 2-8048
Fax paperwork to 2-8045

For any other CT, US, MR, IR, Nuc Med, page radiology OD: 303-266-6347.

Subspecialty faculty are on call at all times; pagers and phone numbers can be
found through the operator, radiology OD, Chris Martin, Theresa Martin, Kristen Nordenholz, Lorna Prutzman, or chief residents Reza Sazgari (266-6714) or Nancy Rini (266-6653).

Weekday (Regular) hours:

1. For plain film results for an ED case, look at PACS or Clinical Workstation; if there is a question or consult needed, call 8-1122. Non-ED cases will also be available on PACS or in Clinical Workstation.

2. To schedule a Fluoroscopy case, call 2-6100.

3. To schedule an outpatient ultrasound call 8-1860, or fax the request to x81882. Inpatient ultrasound requests should be entered in care manager or faxed to 87343. ED ultrasound requests should be entered in IBEX or faxed to 87343.

Preps to consider for US:
- pelvis - full bladder
- abdomen for gallbladder - NPO ideally for 8 hours
- extremity vascular study - must have D-dimer result
- rule out ectopic - full bladder, serum + B-hCG

4. To schedule Computed Tomography (CT), call 8-1162, fax paperwork 2-8045
The techs will consult with radiologists, but if you wish a consultation, call:

Neuro 2-6264
Body 8-1860
Thoracic 2-6118
MSK 8-1122
Results will be called ED cases.

Preps to consider for CT:
- PE CT: must have IV, at least 20 guage, proximal to the distal
forearm. Must have D-dimer
- If oral contrast is needed, it will be protocoled on a case-by-case
basis.
- If IV contrast is needed, the ED is responsible for drawing a
creatinine if:
-History of kidney disease (including tumor or transplant)
-Family history of kidney failure
-IDDM (diabetes) 2 years or longer
-NIDDM > 5 years duration (if on diabetic medications for
that period)
-Paraproteinemia syndrome (e.g. myeloma)
-Collagen vascular disease
-Certain medications (metformin, NSAID, nephrotoxic
antibiotics)
-Patients > 40 years old

5. To schedule Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), call 8-1160
If no answer, call 2-6150 (option 3)
Fax paperwork to 2-7686
Results will be called for ED cases.

The techs will consult with a radiologist, but if you wish a consultation,
call:

Neuro 2-6264
Body 8-1860
Thoracic 2-6118
MSK 8-1122

6. To schedule a Nuclear Medicine (NM) exam, call 8-1210 and fax 8-7683 Results will be called for ED cases; you may consult a physician at 8-2069

Preps to consider for nuclear medicine:
-Need a CXR if requesting VQ scan
-For HIDA scan, 4 hr NPO and off pain medication

7. To schedule an Interventional (IR) exam, call 8-7630
