Application Process

The Department of Radiology offers eight first-year radiology positions (PGY-II) beginning July 1, 2009. A one-year clinical internship in an ACGME accredited United States program at this or another institution is required prior to that time. All positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Trainees are chosen on the basis of their academic record, achievements, and a personal interview. It is not possible to interview all applicants. The Residency Selection Committee will invite those applicants who appear competitive for the program to interview between mid-November, 2008 and late-January, 2009. The deadline for receipt of applications for the eight positions beginning July 1, 2010 is October 31, 2008. Click here for interview schedule.

All applications will be accepted through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).of the AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges). This electronic application is submitted through the Dean’s office of your medical school. If you have any questions about the ERAS system or are applying from outside the U.S., please contact the ERAS office for information at: www.aamc.org/eras/ais/start.htm

Through the ERAS system, we need to receive from each applicant:

• General application form (includes CV)

• Personal statement

• Dean's letter

• Three (3) letters of recommendation

• USMLE or other Board examination results (NBME, FLEX, ECFMG).

• Medical school transcript

• Photograph (optional - but assists us in remembering and identifying applicants)

All applicants must have graduated from medical school within the past 5 years. International medical graduates must be ECFMG certified before an application can be considered. We are willing to sponsor J1.

Although applications can be accepted only through the ERAS, we can be contacted directly to answer any specific questions that you have regarding our program or the application process:
