Application Process:

Applications will be accepted from qualified applicants (as outlined under "Admission Requirements") up to the deadline. Due to the large number of qualified and interested applicants, late or incomplete applications cannot be considered. To avoid incomplete or faxed applications on the deadline date, please submit all necessary material in advance of this date.

After the deadline, applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee, including those from individuals who have chosen to re-apply. Those applicants who meet or exceed all of the requirements will be selected for an interview. An interview with the members of the Admissions Committee is required. This must be conducted in person and will take approximately one hour. All applicants will be notified by mail of the final decision of the committee by the end of May 2010. In order to be fair to all applicants, no acceptance information will be given by telephone.

Please include the following with your completed application form:

1. Copy of official transcripts from all college or paramedical training programs attended. Please do not send copies of high school transcripts. Please allow extra time for transcripts outside of the United States to be approved by the ARDMS. These approvals must meet the application deadline.

2. Three (3) letters of recommendation. These may be sent directly to the program director by the author of the letter or included with the application form in sealed envelopes signed across the seal by the author of the letter.

3. If their degree program does not allow for a clinical rotation in ultrasound, applicants must have 40 hours of observation in an ultrasound department and submit a letter from the supervising sonographer documenting this experience.

4. Resume outlining all work experience.

5. Typed personal statement introducing yourself and outlining your interests and goals, including why you wish to attend the program. This essay demonstrates communication and writing skills.

6. Photograph. This is optional; but it does help the members of the Admissions Committee identify with whom they are speaking during interviews, and it reminds them of each candidate during the final review of applications. This can be attached to the last page of the application.

7. A NON-REFUNDABLE application fee of $30.00 (U.S. currency) is required. Please make checks payable to the ULTRASOUND TEACHING FUND.

2. Eligible candidates are then selected for a personal interview and notified of such by the end of April 2010. Interviews are conducted in person during May 2010 at University of Colorado Hospital, Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion.

3. Final candidate selection is made by the end of May 2010. All candidates will receive notification of the committee's decisions by mail. No information will be given by phone.
