PREVENTION RESEARCH CENTER

Core Theme

Promoting healthy lifestyles in rural communities.

Vision

Healthy families and communities that advocate and partner for social and physical environments that support active, healthy lifestyles.

Mission

The mission of the RMPRC is to advance healthy lifestyles and prevent chronic disease among residents and communities in the Rocky Mountain region by conducting, disseminating, and serving as a resource for community-based prevention research and policy.

Participatory Research

The RMPRC is committed to the principle of participatory research, a collaborative research approach involving our community partners in the research process. We rely on community members, including our Community Advisory Board in the San Luis Valley, to assist with informing decisions in the direction and scope of our research projects in the SLV.
