Directions to our 9th and Colorado Office

The campus is located on the east side of Colorado Blvd (which runs north-south) between 8th and 12th Aves.  Avenue numbers run to the north (9th is north of 8th).  The main access routes are Colfax (which runs east-west), about 1/2 mile north of the campus at the 1500 block North, then south on Colorado Blvd. Alternatively, one may take 6th Ave. east to Colorado Blvd., then turn left (north).

The former University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) Building is on the north side of the campus.  There is a pedestrian bridge over 9th Ave. connecting to the former UCH.  Rose Hospital and the VA Hospital are just east of UCH, though they are not direct affiliates of UC Denver.

From downtown Denver
1. Take Colfax east about 5 miles to Colorado Blvd.
2. Turn right (south) and go about 1/2 mile to 9th Ave.

From the airport
1. Take Pena Blvd south to I-70.
2. Take I-70 west (right) to the Colorado Blvd exit.
3. Take Colorado Blvd south (left) for approximately 4 miles to 9th Ave.

From north Denver
1. Take I-25 south to the Colfax exit.
2. Turn left (east) and follow the directions from downtown, above.

From south Denver
1. Take I-25 north to the Colorado Blvd exit.
2. Turn right (north) and follow it about 5 miles to 9th Ave.

From the Anschutz Medical Campus
1. Take the Sand Creek Parkway or Quentin St. south to exit the campus onto E. Colfax Ave.
2. Turn right (west) onto Colfax, and stay on it for about 5 miles.
3. Take Colorado Blvd. south (left) about 1/2 mile to 9th Ave.

Parking

Parking structures are conveniently located in the following several areas: 

11th Ave. and Colorado Blvd
Parking attendants are on duty weekdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

9th Ave. and Clermont St.
No attendants.

Valet parking is available at the hospital entrance a half block east of Colorado Blvd on 9th Ave., Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Directions to our Offices on the Anschutz Medical Campus

The campus is located in Aurora, CO., in the east central part of the metro Denver area near (southwest of) the intersection of I-70 (east-west) and I-225 (a beltway running north-south at this point).  The preferred entrances are via Fitzsimons Parkway (if you are approaching from the east on Colfax Ave., or via Quentin St. if you approach from the west. The central campus entrance is on Ursula St. (between Quentin St. and the Fitzsimons Parkway), but you will not be able to access UC Denver Parking lots from Ursula St. Please note: If you are visiting UC Denver offices at the Anschutz Campus, Do NOT park in the lots designated for University Hospital, Children's Hospital, Rocky Mountain Lyon's Eye Center, or the Anschutz Centers. Visitor parking is available in the lot at E. 17th Place & Racine St

From downtown
1. Take I-25 north to East-bound I-70, then take the I-225 southbound to E. Colfax Ave.
2. Turn right (west) on Colfax, and proceed one block to Fitzsimons Parkway (formerly named PotomacSt.), then right (north). Turn left on 17th Place, then right on Victor St.
3. Visitor Parking is available in the "Georgetown" lot at E. 19th Ave. & Victor St., and in the "Ignacio" lot, directly accross 19th Ave. from Building 500. Staff (permit) parking is available in the numerous lots north of 19th Ave. between Racine St. on the west and Victor St. on the east. The closest Visitor parking lot to our Anschutz Medical Campus offices is at E. 17th Pl. & Racine St.
Alternatively from downtown:
1. Take Colfax Ave. east for about 10 miles.
2. Turn left on Quentin St., just past Peoria.
3. Turn right on 17th Place, then immediately left on Racine St., then right on E. 19th Ave.

From the airport
1. Take Pena Blvd south until it runs into I-70; head west.
2. Almost immediately there is a fork (left) to take I-225 south.
3. Take I-225 south about 1 mile to the first exit, Colfax.
4. Go right (west) about 1 block to the Fitzsimons Parkway.
5. Turn right (north) on the Sand Creek Parkway, then left on 17th Place, then right on Victor St. to the parking lots.

From the 9th Ave campus
1. Go north on Colorado Blvd about 1/2 mile to Colfax.
2. Turn right (east) and travel about 5 miles to Quentin St., just past Peoria.
3. Turn left (north) on Quentin St., right on 17th Place, then immediately left on Racine St., and right on E. 19th Ave.
Alternatively, if you have a UCDHSC Employee ID Badge, or a Shuttle Pass, you can take the Inter-Campus Shuttle provided by Parking and Transportation Services.

From the North
1. Take I-25 south to I-70 east to I-225 south and follow the instructions from the airport (above).

1. Alternatively, go south on I-25 until the Colfax exit.
2. Turn east (left) onto Colfax and follow the directions from downtown (above).

From the South
1. The directions are the same as from the north (above), except you are headed north on I-25.

1. Alternatively, take I-25 north to I-225 north to the Colfax exit, turn left (west) and follow the instructions from the airport (above).

Parking

As you enter the Anschutz Campus from Colfax Ave. via either Fitzsimons Parkway or Quentin, St., you will find both Visitor and Staff (permit) parking north of E. 19th ave. between Racine St. (to the west), and Victor St. (to the east).

Transportation

A number of Regional Transportation District (RTD, 303-299-6000, www.rtd-denver.com) buses serve the campuses from approximately 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. They stop on 9th Ave., 8th Ave., or Colorado Blvd. The buses that come directly to or close by the 9th Avenue campus are #6, 10, 32, 40 and 56, plus the Regional DD (Boulder).  The Anschutz Medical Campus is served by the #15, 15-Limited, 20, and Regional DM (Boulder via US-36 Park-and-Rides). The #15-Limited provides service to E. Colfax & Ursula St., but it does not actually enter the Campus. Schedules are available at the hospital information desk and at the Parking and Transportation office.

The major taxi companies serving metro Denver around the clock are usually available at the cab stand just east of the hospital entrance on the north side of 9th Ave.  If you need to call a cab, the numbers are:

The Parking and Transportation office runs a free employee shuttle between the two campuses. You need your Employee ID badge in order to board.
