Office of School Health

This site contains information and resources we hope will interest and assist those of you who are school health services personnel, school board members, school administrators, classroom personnel, staff, parents and students, school health faculty, local, state and national school health consultants and policy analysts for health and education agencies and organizations.

Greetings as well to those of you who may be new to school health and curious to find out more about this field.

This site offers three types of information:

• School health course information for school health services personnel and those of you who are interested in entering this field.
• A school health reference collection and resource materials.
• School health quality assurance and evaluation data, manuals and reports

The Office of School Health (OSH) was established in 1969 when the first school nurse practitioner program was developed by the University of Colorado Denver, Schools of Nursing and Medicine, and the Denver Public Schools. Since then, OSH has been continuously engaged in projects to improve school health services. Funding support for OSH comes from public and private sources at local, state and national levels.
