Publications
Expanding School Health Services to Serve Families in the 21st Century
Published originally in 1992 by the American Nurses Association as a white
paper on health care reform, the ideas in this booklet are just as valid today.
Schools are the natural focus for community-based, cost-effective family health
care and have the potential to provide universal access to health care. Model
programs of family-centered primary health care and innovative school health
projects in the past two decades illustrate the soundness of the proposal
to base family health care in community schools.

and the organization and management of school health services.
