During the summer months, he climbs in the Colorado high country and during the winter spends time snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. John and his wife Margaret live in nearby Morrison. They enjoy attending Elderhostels, which are active learning adventures for seniors. Margaret is a quilter and John enjoys weaving custom baskets. Their younger son Matt is a marketing strategist with Comcast in Aurora, Colorado. Matt and his wife Jamie have a son, Andrew James born February 2004. The Moyer’s older son Andy died in a skiing mishap on Christmas Eve 1992. He was an organ and tissue donor.
