| This is an MPEG Movie of the original transverse images of the head. Display is 192x256, 17 mil colors (1.2 MB file). Coronal and sagittal image are NOT part of the Visible Human dataset, they are merely derived from the transverse image data shown here. |
| This is an MPEG Movie of the coronal images of the head. Display is 192x225, 17 mil colors (1.2 MB file). Coronal images were reconstructed from the original transverse slices. |
| This is an MPEG Movie of the sagittal images of the head. Display is 256x225, 33k colors (1.1 MB file). Sagittal images were reconstructed from the original transverse slices. |
| This
is an animation of the reconstructed lower back. This is an example of
the results obtained from the segmenting and classification procedures.
The animation provides a detailed 3D image of the muscles of the back,
the kidneys with associated vascular tissue, and skeletal structures.
The colors used for the various structures were derived from tissue colors
in the dataset. This is the data used in our Celiac Plexus Block Simulator.
The animation is available in MPEG
format, 1.2 MB and Quicktime
format, 5.9 MB. The Quicktime Movie provides a high resolution image,
though download times could be monstrous. |

This is an animation which was originally created at 640x480 pixels and exported to digital video for an educational seminar. Although the anatomical labels are not legible at the reduced size required for the web, it illustrates the type of renderings being created here at the Center. For reasonable download times the movie has been compressed using a codex which requires Quicktime 3.0 to play. If you do not have Quicktime 3.0, you can download it free at www.quicktime.com. Once you have Quicktime 3.0, please select the type of connection you have to the Internet, to download the appropriate version of the movie. |
