LAY SUMMARY OF RESEARCH OBJECTIVES:
Increases in body fat that occur aging and inactivity lead to a number of common metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes mellitus and poor cholesterol. Research is carried out to study how metabolism differs in various regions of the body; also, how aging, exercise and hormones affect metabolism and body composition.
