Bio
Dr. Flaig completed his fellowship in 2005 at the University of Colorado Denver, after which he joined the faculty of the Divison of Medical Oncology at the University of Colorado Denver, Aurora, CO.
Research
Dr. Flaig is focused on translational genitourinary cancer research, with an emphasis on prostate and bladder cancer. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and completed the hematology/oncology fellowship program at the University of Colorado in 2006. The GU oncology clinic actively participates in cooperative (SWOG) and industry-sponsored clinical trials. Dr. Flaig has recently reported on a local, investigator-initiated phase I trial of silibinin in prostate cancer patients, with a follow-up NIH-sponsored silibinin biomarker study now underway. His laboratory effort is split between new prostate cancer treatment approaches using natural products and the integration of targeted therapies into the treatment of bladder cancer.
