Bio
Dr. Raich is a board-certified Medical Oncologist and Hematologist with 35 years of experience in cancer patient care and clinical investigation.  He is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver and Comprehensive Cancer Center.  For the past 14 years, Dr. Raich has been Senior Scientist, Center for Behavioral and Community Studies at AMC Cancer Research Center, and served as Head of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Denver Health Medical Center from 2003 to 2008. 

Research
Areas of research interest are improving informed consent for cancer clinical trials, increasing minority participation for cancer clinical trials, developing and testing decision support interventions for cancer patients, and evaluating patient navigation programs.  With NCI funding, he has implemented several patient navigation and counseling programs for underserved patients with abnormal screening tests and with newly diagnosed breast, prostate and colorectal cancers, and is co-principal investigator in a multi-site research consortium evaluating multimedia patient information and decision support programs for breast and prostate cancer patients.
