Main Research Focus:

The lab is a translational biology laboratory focused on the development of novel molecularly based therapies for pancreatic cancer and other gastrointestinal malignancies.  The goal of the laboratory work is to translate bench research into therapeutic strategies that can be evaluated in early phase clinical studies.  Currently, the laboratory investigating molecular based strategies targeting the mTOR pathway in human derived pancreatic tumor xenografts.  Additionally, the laboratory is investigating methods to target the tumor stromal compartment for therapeutic intervention.  A combination of pharmacodiagnostic, pharmacodynamic and molecular imaging strategies are being employed to develop biomarkers of efficacy to better facilitate the translation of the laboratory endeavors into viable clinical strategies.
