The 16th Annual Endocrine Fellows Conference – New Concepts and Directions in Thyroidology is pleased to offer the following:
COVERED ITEMS:
Transportation expense:
- Airfare, 1 round trip ticket w/ minimum 14 day advance - All airline travel will be booked by the Conference Travel Agents – Custom Travel after 7/15/09
- Per information provided on this website – individuals who make their own reservations will not be able to be reimbursed.
- Please check your e-mail daily after 7/15 for proposed airline reservations. Oncethey are sent to you, the window for changes is ONLY 24 HOURS.
- E-tickets will be provided and sent to each individual’s e-mail. With consideration for cost, we will make every effort to keep travel to the shortest, most direct route.
- In the event that you can not attend the conference due to an emergent matter, after your reservations have been made, you MUST send a written request to the conference coordinators prior to the conference with the signature of your program director that clearly states the emergent situation. Requests must be unavoidable and be approved by Dr. Ridgway.
- If you have registered, received tickets and just do not show up for the conference, you will be responsible for 100% of the transportation costs and room cost for 9/22/09.
- Individuals living more than 50 miles away and opting to drive to the conference will be reimbursed $0.42 per mile. Those living less than 50 miles away will not be reimbursed for travel.
- Funds to cover airport transfers will be provided to attendees at the conference check-in on 9/22 and will be sufficient to cover cab or shuttle. For shuttle/cab information see the ATA Annual meeting website at www.thyroid.org if needed.
Hotel Accommodations: Attending the 16th Annual Endocrine Fellows Conference ONLY – our contact is EFCThyroid@comcast.net (Terri/Ashleigh). (Individuals who also wish to attend the ATA Clinical Fellows Track and the ATA Annual meeting (must register SEPARATELY at www.thyroid.org - and the ATA Clinical Fellow track contact is Jared at jhoke@thyroid.org .)
- 1 night- Room and Tax- double occupancy/same gender: (9/22/09) - will be direct billed to the 16th Annual Endocrine Fellows conference.
- Shared lodging for individuals registered and approved by the ATA Clinical Fellows Track will be responsible for their room costs 9/23 onward – all ATA activities (annual meeting and clinical fellow track are handled by the ATA - jhoke@thyroid.org . The ATA asks that we let everyone know single person rooms are at the regular ATA rate and single rooms will ONLY have 1 bed – two bed rooms are not available.
- For individuals only attending the 16 th Annual Endocrine Fellows Conference 9/22 -23; in instances where no flights are available from West Palm Beach to the individual’s home city following the conclusion of the 16th Annual Endocrine Fellow’s conference on 9/23, we will cover the hotel expense for the second night and discuss this with you in advance.
- Due to budgetary restrictions all rooms will be assigned and shared with another fellow of the same gender. You may request a specific roommate from another institution on the registration page, but please check with that individual first to make sure they agree to the match.

- For individuals approved for the ATA Clinical Fellows track, we will work with Jared Hoke at jhoke@thyroid.org to secure housing through 9/27 per your registration info here
- ATA meeting registration should be handled via the ATA website www.thyroid.org - $100 registration fee for ATA meeting beginning eve of 9/23 through 9/27
- Please coordinate the 16 th Endocrine Fellows Conference registration activity with your fellow program colleagues so as not to compete with one another. Only the first applicant will be approved.
SUMMARY:
- 16 th Annual EFC air, hotel, airport transfers and food during conference are paid by the conference. Dinner reception 9/22 and conference is 9/23/09.
- 5 th Annual ATA Clinical Fellow’s Track and ATA Annual meeting – evening of 9/23 through 9/27 are NOT covered and attendance for these events are at the individual’s expenses including hotel 9/23 onward, meeting registration and food costs.
