Dr. Wang joined the Division of Endocrinology in 2006. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Nanjing University, Nanjing, China in 1990. She then came to United States to pursue graduate study and received her Ph.D in Biochemistry from University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah in 1998. She went on to get postdoctoral training in Huntsman Cancer Institute at University of Utah, where she researched in the area of transcriptional regulation mechanism and cancer biology. Her most recent position was the Director of Protein Expression and Purification Facility at Colorado State University. Dr. Wang currently is the manager for the research group of Dr. Robert Eckel. The main focus of her research is to study the role of lipoprotein lipase in the metabolic processing of lipoproteins in skeletal muscles as well as in other organs in the body. The goal is to understand how the modifications in the expression and regulation of LPL lead to certain disease states including obesity, diabetes mellitus, and dyslipidemias.
