General Information
- Applications for internship will be accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) from September 1st to November 15, 2007.
- Our required application materials are the same as ERAS (Transcript, Dean's Letter, two Letters of Recommendation, Departmental/Chair Letter, USMLE Transcript, Personal Statement, etc).
- Applicatons for PGY-2 and 3 positions will be accepted through our office as openings arise.
- International Medical Graduates (IMG's) are required to be ECFMG certified at the time of your application or far enough along in the application process that you will receive certification no later than February 1, 2008.
- We require clinical experience in a U.S. healthcare system. We do not count observerships or research as clinical experience.
We will screen all applications on a rolling basis and offer interviews to candidates whose academic and personal strengths indicate that they would have a reasonable chance to match with us. ERAS applications must include two letters of recommendation from faculty, the Department of Medicine letter, the Dean's letter, formal transcripts, and a personal statement. Please indicate if you will be participating in the couples match.

Are USMLE exam scores mandatory?
US medical school applicants must pass step 1 and be scheduled to take step 2 prior to graduation.
Non-US medical school applicants must pass steps 1 and 2 in order to be ECFMG certified.
Do you accept COMLEX scores instead of USMLE scores?
Yes, but we prefer USMLE scores.
Do you offer preliminary positions?
Yes
Do you hire outside of the NMRP match?
No
Do you offer visiting resident/medical student rotations?
We have limited room for learners, therefore we only allow medical students and resident physicians currently enrolled in U.S., LCME accredited institutions to apply for visiting rotations. Go to the University of Colorado website for more information.
Do you have a minimum USMLE score?
We have no minimum score requirement but a competitive score will increase the strength of your application.

How long can I be out of medical school and still apply for your program?
We look for individuals who have graduated within the past 5 years.
