General Information
- Applications for internship will be accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) from September 1st to November 15, 2009.
- Our required application materials are the same as ERAS (Transcript, Dean's Letter, two Letters of Recommendation, Departmental/Chair Letter, USMLE Transcript, Personal Statement, etc).
- Applicatons for PGY-2 and 3 positions will be accepted through our office as openings arise.
We will screen all applications on a rolling basis and offer interviews to candidates whose academic and personal strengths indicate that they would have a reasonable chance to match with us. ERAS applications must include two letters of recommendation from faculty, the Department of Medicine letter, the Dean's letter, formal transcripts, and a personal statement. Please indicate if you will be participating in the couples match.

- What is your application deadline?
- We begin accepting applications September 1, 2009.

- When are your interviews?
- We begin interviewing November 13, 2009 and continue until January 22, 2010.
- Are USMLE exam scores mandatory?
- US medical school applicants must pass step 1 scores to be considered for an interview. Non-US medical school applicants and osteopathic applicants must pass and submit steps 1 and 2 in order to be eligible.
- Do you offer preliminary positions?
- Yes. We offer approximately 4 preliminary and 5 neuro-preliminary positions each year.
- Do you hire outside of the NMRP match?
- No, applications for PGY-1 positions are only accepted via ERAS.
- Do you have a minimum USMLE score?
- No, but typically we look for scores above the mean of 222. We expect that individuals will pass the exams in their first attempt.
- How long can I be out of medical school and still apply for your program?
- While most of our residents do not take time off between medical school and residency, we will evaluate applications of all individuals who have graduated within the past 5 years.
- Do you participate in the couples match?
- Absolutely. We welcome applicants participating in the couples match and will be flexible in arranging your interview day. Please let us know if you have any special needs.
