Journal Clubs

Journal club has two venues. Journal Club Classics is a three year curriculum covering approximately 75 of the landmark trials that every internist should know.  Resident run, faculty-supervised sessions occur simultaneously at UCH, VA/Rose, PSL, and DHH, guided by a shared set of faculty teaching points.  At the end of residency, a electronic compendium of the articles and teaching points is provided to graduates.  During the OBMT rotation, residents attend a daily morning journal club mentored by key clinical faculty with a focus on effectively formulating and answering clinical questions.  In this venue, critical appraisal skills are taught and emphasized.  Taken together, Journal Club Classics forms a core library of key literature while OBMT gives residents the skills to efficiently seek out medical literature to apply to patient care.
