Colorado Outdoor Activities

Perhaps the greatest appeal of Denver is its proximity to great outdoor activities. With over 300 days of sun per year, there is no shortage of opportunities to head to the hills for hiking, biking, camping, skiing, and snow-shoeing. Rocky Mountain National Park is a 60-90 minute drive from Denver and makes for a great day trip, and the foothills of Denver offer a quick retreat for a trail-run or mountain-bike ride. The skiing and snow-boarding within 90 minutes of Denver is fantastic. Most residents invest in season passes or packaged tickets to Breckenridge, Vail, Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin, Beaver Creek, and Keystone. In fact, residents often rent out a seasonal ski-house for crashing before or after a busy day of powder on the slopes.
