The
following activities were available at the 2007 Conference - many
will be available in 2008. This page will be updated as we
finalize our schedule
Please note: The Keystone "Adventure Pass" is included
with registration! Pick it up when you check into your Condo.
Keystone is an ideal location for exploring many of the activities aforded
by the Rocky Mountains. Several activities will be planned and organized
by the 2007 committee while others are available to those with a car
interested in a short drive to another town. A short list of possible
activities for Sunday morning are listed below. Activities are subject to
change a finalized list will be available closer to the conference. As
always if you have further questions please contact the
Organizing Committee.
Sunday Morning Activities Led & Organized By UCHSC Students:
- Hiking
Bring the following:
a pair of rugged, supportive shoes
or boots; sunscreen; water bottle; loose fitting clothes, preferably NOT
made of cotton; a warm sweatshirt or fleece jacket; and finally a good nylon
jacket capable of repelling rain and wind. It is a good idea to bring a
small pack to carry these things with you on the hike.

- Mountain Biking
Bring the following: a pair of athletic shoes; a pair of
shorts, preferably nylon; both short and long sleeve athletic shirts, again
preferably NOT made of cotton; sunscreen; and a water bottle. You may want
to have a nylon jacket as well, but most people try to cut down on the
amount of gear they carry while mountain biking.

Mountain Bike Headquarters (MBHQ) in River Run
MBHQ is Keystone's only full-service bike shop specializing in
full-suspension demo and rental bikes. Featuring a full line of Trek
mountain bikes for sale, we also have a vast selection of bike clothing and
accessories from FOX, Pearl Izumi, Bell, Hayes, Specialized and many more!
Our staff of certified bike mechanics have the years of experience to tackle
any problem you may have with your bike. For more info please contact the

- Horse Back Riding Excursion
A 1 hr trip will be organized by TBA
Details and meeting times/places will be available at Registration.
It's one of the most scenic ways to see Keystone. Trail rides of 1hr. and 2hrs.
are offered daily. Overnight rides are available upon request. Minimum 8 years
old. No riding double. Reservations required.
- Mini-Golf
The 2nd Annual Putt-Putt MD/PhD Student Conference Championship!
Orgainized by TBA

Price: $5 All you can play.
- Shopping
A trip to the Outlets in nearby Silverthorne will be organized by TBA

If interested in the activites
below you must make the reservations yourself.
- Fly-fishing Trips & Clinics
Take a day trip on the river and learn the graceful skills of fly fishing or
improve your skills with an experienced guide/instructor. Or, the fly-fishing
clinics provide instructors to teach the basics of tying a fly and casting.
Either way, you'll soon be "hooked" on fly fishing and finding the hidden spots.
Keystone offers year-round guided trips. Reservations are required - call
800-354-4FUN (4386).
- Water Sports
Explore Lakeside Village in a canoe, paddleboat or kayak. Spend a few hours
relaxing day on the water and enjoy the views of the Continental Divide from
Keystone Lake.
- Scenic Chairlift Ride
Chair Lift
The Summit Express chairlift will whisk you to the summit of Keystone Mountain
and spectacular views of Lake Dillon, the Continental Divide and other mountain
ranges.
- Historical Tour by bus
Did you know that Keystone was originally the site of a railroad station in the
1880s that transported lead and silver to Denver? Or, that the Keystone Ranch
Golf Course was an old cattle ranch and lettuce farm in the early 1900s? Learn
more about local mining history and the history of Keystone Resort.

- Four-wheel drive tours
Climb aboard a 4WD vehicle for a scenic two-hour ride, or a three-hour hummer
ride into the high-country. Your driver will entertain you with local folklore
while visiting some of the most scenic vistas in the Rockies.

- ATV Tours
It's not enough just to reach the end of a beautiful trail and see some
fantastic scenery, it's how you get there that adds to the fun! This tour
crosses over the Continental Divide and takes you through some of Colorado's
magnificent back country terrain.

2hr=$95 to drive, $45 as
passenger.

- Georgetown Railroad Loop and Mine Tour
Enjoy the beauty and scenery of Colorado while riding an old narrow-gauge steam
train.

- Mine Tour
The original settlers of Summit County were not looking for a place to ski, but
for gold and silver. See how they worked and lived.

- Yoga
Start your day with an exhilarating yoga class at the Keystone Lodge Fitness
Center.
- Movie
In the unlikely event that weather is bad all morning sunday we will be showing
