Imread Dicom Programs

Welcome to the Imread Home Page. Imread is a Java program which will enable viewing of DICOM format images on any PC or Mac. It can process images as well as save them in TIFF or JPEG format. There is also a separate viewer application which will only allow the viewing and windowing of DICOM , uncompressed TIFF, or JPEG images. This program automatically displays the images in a size that fills the screen and allows easy switching between multiple images from a single case. Both features can be helpful in a conference setting. These programs are avaiable for download here.

For those that are not familiar with Java, these programs need a Java Virtual Machine to run. For Macintoshes, this is built into the newer Mac operating systems or is available from Apple. For PCs, this is available within Internet Explorer 4 or 5 and from Sun. Please make sure that you have the most recent version to insure proper functioning.
