Costa Rica: Coast-to-Coast
October 8-17

An adventure to benefit the Webb-Waring Institute for Cancer, Aging and Antioxidant Research

In October 2004, a hardy team of adventurers stepped off from the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica and embarked on an 8-day expedition that took them through the rain forest, over the continental divide, down raging rivers and finally to the Atlantic Coast; all under their own power. This multi-sport challenge benefited the innovative medical research being conducted at the Webb-Waring Institute for Cancer, Aging and Antioxidant Research. A symbol of the struggles of pioneering research, this event captured the imagination of explorers of all kinds.
