17 million Americans suffer from Diabetes
11.1 million people have been diagnosed, but another 5.9 million do not know they have the disease

Lupus
The Lupus Foundation of America estimates that approximately 1,400,000 Americans have a form of lupus.
Although lupus can strike men and women of all ages, 90% of individuals diagnosed with the disease are women, and 80% of those afflicted with systemic lupus develop it between the ages of 15 and 45.
Lupus is two to three times more prevalent among people of color, including African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians, and Native-Americans.

Other Autoimmune Diseases
Autoimmune diseases are a class of at least 20 and as many as 60 different illnesses that affect the immune system. They include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, scleroderma and juvenile diabetes.
Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United States, affecting more than 42 million Americans. The number is expected to increase to 60 million by 2020.
An estimated 2,500,000 people in the world have multiple sclerosis.
