Sept. 14 Arrival in Peru, Airport transfer to hotel in San Isidro.

Sept. 15 Land transportation back to Lima airport for 1hr. 10min flight to Cuzco. Drive (1h. 40m.) to hotel in the Sacred Valley. Opportunities along the way to photograph spectacular scenery.

Sept. 16 Early departure by bus to the village of Chinchero, the official starting point of the Challenge. Warm-up by exploring on foot this picturesque village and its Inca/Colonial monuments. Mountain bike from Chinchero to Ollantaytambo. Afternoon lunch at the ruins of Moray. We will overnight in the beautiful village of Ollantaytambo. 25 m biking Support vehicle Camping B,L,D
Sept. 17 After an early breakfast, we bike ride from the village of Ollantaytambo up a rugged mountain valley road to the Patacancha Valley Mountain Pass. A traditional Andean lunch will be enjoyed with the Quechua community of Patacancha. Dinner and overnight at Veronica camp.
40m biking with extra 15 mile ride if time and conditions permit. Support vehicle Camping B,L,D
Sept. 18 From camp Veronica, we hike south and follow the Urubamba River. Fantastic mountain views, farm fields, small villages, and roaring streams snow capped peaks are our companions through this challenging hike. Dinner and overnight at Anchash Cocha lagoon located 13,300 feet above sea level.

Sept. 19 After a hearty breakfast, we prepare ourselves for a very long day. From camp, a steep climb surrounded by snow capped peaks and beautiful waterfalls. After a steep descent, and spectacular views, lunch will be in the village of Quecca. After another very steep descent, dinner and overnight near the ruins of Llactapata.

Sept. 20 Hiking along the Urubamba River, enjoying magnificent views of the Andean Mountain range. Sections of the walks are flat, steep or rolling hills. Along the way exploring Inca ruins and terrace systems. Camp and dinner at Chachabamba.

Sept. 21 Hiking Inca Trail to Inca complex of Winay Wayna (Forever Young), through numerous terraces in the area and around Machu Picchu, until we reach "Inti Punku" or Gate to the Sun. Spectacular views of Machu Picchu and lunch. Steep hike to Machu Picchu. Bus to the hotel Pueblo for overnight.
6m hiking Support team and bus to hotel Hotel Pueblo B,L,D
Sept. 22 Relax and enjoy a free day exploring Machu Picchu. Return to the city of Cuzco.
Train Hotel in Cuzco B,D
Sept. 23 Morning transfer from hotel to Cuzco airport and fly back to Lima. Farewell Peruvian lunch at Lima restaurant. Late afternoon departure for airport and evening flight to USA.
