Guest Speakers
Dr. David E. Clouthier
Dr. David E. Clouthier is an Associate Professor, Dept. of Craniofacial Biology at the University of Colorado Denver School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Clouthier received his PhD degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas along with postdoctoral fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania and U.T. Southwestern.
He was the recipient of a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship and a NIH Independent Scientist Award (K02 Award). His research focus is in on elucidating the molecular signals involved in neural crest cell patterning during early craniofacial and cardiovascular development.
Dr. Raymond A. Yukna
Dr. Raymond A. Yukna is Professor and Director of Advanced Periodontal Therapies at University of Colorado Denver School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Yukna graduated cum laude from Tufts University of Dental Medicine, obtained a MS degree in Oral Biology from George Washington University and a Certificate in Periodontology from Naval Graduate Dental School. He is a Diplomate, American Board of Periodontology and Diplomate, American Board of Oral Medicine, along with receiving certification from the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry.
Over the past two decades his research focus has been directed toward the study of periodontal regeneration in humans with special interests in development of new approaches to bone grafting in periodontal defects, understanding the periodontal aspects of dental implants, and most recently, in the evaluation of lasers for periodontal treatment. His focus is on applied clinical research and the evaluation of newly developed technologies in patients.
