Past Education:
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 2005
BS in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology
Graduate Program:
Cellular and Developmental Biology |

Research Interests:
The Reyland lab is interested in protein kinase C delta (PKCdelta) mediated regulation of apoptosis. PKCdelta functions in signal transduction pathways by phosphorylating key cellular proteins involved in the apoptotic pathway. We have shown that this phosphorylation by PKCdelta is essential for genotoxin induced apoptosis. My thesis project focuses on the potential tumor suppressive activities of PKCdelta in mammary epithelial cells using 3D cell culture techniques.
General Interests:
Camping in the mountains with live music, taking naps with my cats Sappho and Benicio del Gato, local brews, farmers markets, vegan cooking and chicken salad (think about that), and Colorado sun.
