The Integrated Clinician’s Course (ICC) is an approximately 8-week curriculum spread out over the 3rd and 4th years of medical school. The overall course is composed of six (6) mini-courses. The ICC brings together an entire class with two specific goals. The first goal is to provide important skills and knowledge in areas that are vital to the practice of medicine, but are often difficult to teach in the clinical care setting. These topics include health policy, ethics, clinical decision- making, and culturally effective care, as well as clinically relevant basic science material and advanced clinical skills, particularly those that span multiple disciplines. The second, but no less important goal is to provide the time and opportunity to reflect on and discuss the process of becoming a physician.
Please refer to each specific ICC course for a description of its goals and objectives.
