Clinical Grade:
The standard clerkship evaluation form approved by the Clinical Block Directors will be used. Each student will be required to obtain three evaluations, and at least one must be from an attending physician. The student has the option of requesting ONE of their three evaluations from a staff nurse.
Pass: clinical evaluation score above 3.0

Written Exam:
Students must achieve a score of at least 70% on the written examination to achieve a passing grade on the course.

Access to care project:
This portion of the grade will be based on the students’ participation at the session where these projects are discussed, as well as the quality of their written assignment, which will be graded by the block directors. This assignment will be graded on a pass/fail basis only.

Online cases:
Each student will complete two online cases. They will be graded based on how they use their clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills to approach the problem. These cases will be graded on a pass/fail basis only.

Standardized patient assessment:
Although the SP assessment will not count toward the student grade, each student MUST pass this assessment in order to pass the course.

Student logs:
All students will demonstrate achievement of the primary competencies of the course by utilizing the experience logger as developed by the SOM.
