Communication

  • Write an appropriate history and physical examination and SOAP note for surgical (peri-operative) patients.
  • Be able to orally present concise patient history and physical exam findings to colleagues and attendings.
  • Demonstrate good communication/listening skills with patients and their families.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, consultants, and other health care professionals.
  • Be able to effectively communicate medical information with patients.
  • Demonstrate patient-centered communication and collaborative decision making.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate within the electronic medical record.
